Christmas Kindness in Evansville

This season of giving has taken on special meaning in Evansville this week. Yesterday, something extraordinary happened that perfectly captures the spirit of this wonderful community we’re so proud to serve.

Over $12,500 in Support for Local Heroes

What started as one generous act quickly snowballed into an outpouring of community support that left us inspired and grateful. When Culver’s announced their $5,000 donation to the Care Closet, other local businesses immediately wanted to join in. Before long, we found ourselves part of something truly special. A Christmas Kindness initiative that brought together businesses across Evansville.

Yesterday morning, we gathered at the Care Closet to begin making rounds throughout town, surprising organizations with checks totaling more than $12,500 in donations. The recipients included:

Supporting Those Who Support Us All

At Eldon Homes, we believe in supporting the local heroes who make our communities thrive. The Fire Department, Police Department, and EMS teams serve us every day, often in ways we never see. Organizations like the Care Closet and AWARE provide critical support to neighbors who need it most.

This initiative reminded us why we’re so proud to build homes and develop neighborhoods in places like Evansville. It’s not just about creating beautiful homes. It’s about being part of communities where people genuinely care about one another, where businesses step up to support local causes, and where giving back is what neighbors do.

A Community Effort

We were honored to participate alongside other local businesses that share our commitment to Evansville:

  • Blue Scope
  • Culver’s
  • Evansville Ford
  • Lake Ridge Bank
  • R.M. Berg

As Rob Hostrawser, Owner & CEO, joined the giving rounds, we were reminded of why community involvement is at the heart of everything we do. Rob continues to serve as an advocate for smart growth in our communities, understanding that thriving local businesses, strong schools, and well-supported service organizations all go hand in hand.

As the year comes to a close, we’re filled with gratitude for communities like Evansville. The generosity, kindness, and support shown by residents and businesses throughout the year inspire us every day.

To the Fire Department, Police Department, EMS, Care Closet, and AWARE: thank you for everything you do. To our fellow business partners who joined in giving: thank you for making this initiative possible. And to the entire Evansville community: thank you for showing us what it means to come together.

This is what community looks like, and we’re honored to be part of it.
